MY STUDY GOALS

My goals for this semester in:

Customer Insight / Study Tour

In November, our class is taking a four-day study trip to Oslo, Norway. We visit tourist companies and see the sights around the town. I applied for a project manager position, but this time someone else was chosen. I am the team leader of the Budget team and I act as our project manager's substitute for a week. I am also the account administrator for our class bank account. My goal with the Customer Insight / Study Tour is to become a better leader and organizer. I want to learn more about budgeting and organizing a trip for a larger group.

Business plan

We came up with new business ideas for tourism. Right now, my group has two great ideas we want to implement. We have a business plan fair coming up. My goal is to learn more about entrepreneurship and business planning.

Nordiska studier

My goal as a Nordiska studier is to increase my Swedish vocabulary and try my best.

I chose self-management, time and stress management, self-reflection skills and critical thinking, self-expression, and understanding of others.

The most important competencies for me:

I want to be able to manage my time and stress levels better. I'm used to a very hectic and stressful job, but at school it's different. I've found that you can't leave your "job" when you leave school as you did at work. I have always been interested in knowing myself better and improving my weaknesses, so I choose the self-reflector as one of my goals. I want to learn to think critically.

As a company actor, I chose an entrepreneurial and business way of thinking.

I've always been curious about starting my own business, but I never knew what it would take and what steps are needed beforehand. So my goal is to learn more about entrepreneurship.

And finally, the skills of my chosen Customer Service Provider include the ability to make sales-oriented presentations and skillful communication (oral and written).

I've always thought that I'm not very good at sales pitches, so that's one of my goals. I want to learn how to give a good sales pitch. When I did a good show, I liked the class we had on it and started watching more videos of it after school. I've always loved talking and writing about the things I love, but I still have a long way to go.

So these are my goals for my first semester at Haaga-Helia.
